The Sikh Community of Calgary would like to take this opportunity to invite you to share the blessings of Vaisakhi at the annual Nagar Kirtan parade.

The parade is a colourful exhibition of religion, history, music, traditional martial arts, delicious food and Indian sweets. Please join us in marking the 311^th anniversary of the Sikh religion.

Please be advised there will be very limited parking.  Everyone who wants to attend the events are encouraged not to park at Safeway, Co-op and Superstore parking lots.  There will be Transit Service provided to reach all areas of the NE.  Westwinds and Whitehorn train stations will be designated for parking and transit points for buses.

Walking away Hunger Campaign:

The Sikh youth of Calgary have united once again to serve the community through the 5th annual “LANGAR: Walking Away Hunger” campaign. Re-emphasizing the Sikh ideology of free kitchen, we will be collecting non-perishable food (cans, cereals, etc.) donations for the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank. Food collection boxes will be set up at the Dashmesh Culture Center and we will continuously accept donations during the week. At the conclusion of the Nagar Kirtan, we will transport the donations to the Interfaith Food Bank. Any cash or non-perishable food donations are welcome prior to and during the parade. A well-marked pickup truck will be following the parade to collect any donations.
